Thank you for your interest in employment with The Children’s Assessment Center (CAC). The CAC is a department of Harris County, Texas and all qualified applicants should apply through the county. Click on the links on this page to review open positions within The CAC.
All applicants considered for employment with The CAC must submit to a Criminal and CPS background check. Employment will be contingent on the results of that check before employment will be considered. In addition, annual background checks are also conducted.
To apply for a position with The CAC or any other Harris County agency, please follow these instructions:
- Click on http://www.hctx.net/hrrm/Employment.aspx. Read this page carefully.
- Look to the bottom of the EMPLOYMENT page and click on CLERICAL, TECHNICAL, OR PROFESSIONAL. You will find open job titles and announcement numbers.
- Click on the positions that interest you and read the job description carefully to determine if you meet all the qualifications.
- Go back to the EMPLOYMENT page to download an application. When completing the application, make sure to include the announcement number.
- A separate application is required for each position, but you may use copies of the original, completed application.
- Your resume can be attached, but will not be considered in the screening process.
- Once the application is completed you can either mail or take your application to: 1310 Prairie, Suite 240, Houston, Texas 77002.

APPIC Internships
An internship at The Children's Assessment Center is a twelve-month, full-time training program for advanced pre-doctoral students in Clinical and Counseling Psychology. Interns will receive supervised experience in intakes, psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning, case management, and psychotherapy with clients (age toddlers through adults) experiencing a wide variety of disorders.
