Office/Administrative Volunteers:
Throughout the year, the staff at The CAC will need help with daily tasks as well as preparing for our special events. If you would like to help us in this capacity, please download the application and contact Jaime Coffey.
Special Event Volunteer Opportunities:
It is the goal of the Children’s Services Department to provide enriching experiences and special events throughout the year to the families we serve.
Special Event Volunteers may serve one time or repeatedly. Each event is a little different, so we ask that you register with Jaime Coffey to receive information regarding each opportunity.
Long-term Volunteer Opportunities:
As a Children’s Services volunteer, you will work in our playroom. This playroom helps facilitate the work done by our therapists, medical clinic, investigators and interviewers. The children go to the playroom between services and are allowed time to play, do homework, eat, etc. While in the playroom, volunteers have the unique opportunity to model healthy relationships with the children and interact with them. Play is so important to a traumatized child and we are proud to be able to provide them with a safe, nurturing play environment.
The playroom is open 9am-8pm Monday-Thursday, and 9am-5pm on Friday. We are not open during the weekends.
Due to the extreme sensitivity of our work at The CAC, we do have some requirements of those interested in volunteering in our playroom:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Attend our volunteer training (see a list of dates below)
• Submit an application and confidentiality agreement (click here to download the application)
• Agree to criminal and CPS background checks
• Take part in a personal interview

Current Volunteers:
As you know, the children who come into the playroom are special. They have been through a very traumatic event and that trauma effects them in many ways. As a volunteer at the CAC, we ask you to attend Continued Training sessions and that you read several key articles to help equip you to best nurture the children we serve. Below are the links to these articles.
