2016 Advocate Through Art Party
The Advocates for The Children’s Assessment Center hosted the Fourth Annual Advocate Through Art Party benefiting The Children’s Assessment Center (The CAC) on November 16th at Winter Street Studios. The event was a record-breaking success raising more than $330,000 for The CAC. The nearly 400 guests in attendance enjoyed a live and silent art auction, delicious cuisine donated by Clark Cooper Concepts, cocktails, music by DJ Athenz, and a Live Painting by Taft McWhorter. There were over 70 art pieces donated. Participating artists included: Kelley Devine, Ashley Henry, Jawda and Jawda, Ashley Longshore, Peter Tunney and many more.
The Live Auction artwork included BIKER BRANDO, a piece by Peter Tunney; Prediction by Emilie Duval; Cat Tie donated by the George Rodrigue Foundation and an American Flag painting, by Taft McWhorter. Also, included in the Live Auction was an exquisite ring by Valobra, which had been specifically designed for The Children’s Assessment Center’s event.
Event Chairs were Heather Bulk and Jordan Seff. Creative Chairs were Saba and Sarah Jawda. Guests included: CAC Foundation Board of Directors members Ericka Bagwell, Allison Flikerski, Urasline Hamilton, Lauren Maloy and Yvette Webb. Others present were Becca Cason Thrash, Javier and Lucinda Loya, Meredith and Ben Marshall and Franco Valobra.
The event raised over $330,000 for the expansion of training and education programs at The CAC which are critical to the prevention of child sexual abuse and the healing of young victims.
