6th Annual Friends Guild Holiday Coffee

Houston, Texas - December 12, 2013 - The Children’s Assessment Center (The CAC) Friends Guild Board hosted the 6th Annual Holiday Coffee on Thursday, December 12, 2013.  Ericka Bagwell, Friends Guild Board member and generous hostess, opened up her gorgeous home for this festive occasion once again to gather supporters and friends of The CAC.  It was another successful Holiday Coffee event and guests opened their hearts showing incredible generosity bringing gifts and gift cards to brighten up the holidays for the teens served by The CAC.

The morning was also filled with many holiday shopping opportunities that benefited The CAC including beautiful Christmas ornaments designed by children served by The CAC.  Longtime supporter of The CAC, Lisa Holthouse was in attendance with her children’s book, “It All Started With A Turtle” and generously donated 100% of the proceeds to The CAC.  DruMichael Designs brought a stylish assortment of jewelry for the guests to browse donating 10% of the proceeds to The CAC, along with Debbie Porter who featured her book, “Fabulous Phebe Dreams Big” generously donating 15% of proceeds to The CAC.  UrbanHippyShop showcased a divine collection of pearl jewelry designs for all the guests to enjoy and generously donated 10% of the proceeds to The CAC.

A special showcase that everyone enjoyed was the Holiday Trees donated by Cheeky Vintage, Kendra Scott, New Living and Rice Village’s Finest Merchants that were auctioned at the event.  Each tree was uniquely designed for The CAC and made for fun and festive auction bidding throughout the morning!

Elaine Stolte, Executive Director of The CAC, thanked everyone for attending and for their support and involvement throughout the year.  The CAC is thankful for supporters such as the guests of the Holiday Coffee who help not only spread awareness, but also encourage prevention of child sexual abuse.  Each gift brought for a child or teen makes a difference in the lives of the children, teens and families served by The CAC.  Elaine Stolte also introduced the 2014 Spirit of Spring Event Chairs, Tina Davis, Lidiya Gold, Denise Hazen and Yvette Webb and reminded everyone to save the date of April 17, 2014 for the 15th Annual Spirit of Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Westin Galleria.  Also in attendance was the 2014 Spirit of Spring Honoree, Senator Joan Huffman
